Bekasi: Japan were at their best as they beat Guam 20-0 in their opening AFC U-16 Championship 2018 Malaysia qualifier on Wednesday.
It took Japan only five minutes to open the scoring as Man-of-the-Match Keita Nakano (picture above) fired home.
It was not to be his last as Nakano went on to score five more in the 19th, 38th, 54th (penalty), 64th (penalty) and 73rd minutes.
Japan's other goals were scored by Yuji Yoshida (10th, 32nd, 51st, 62nd), Asahi Yokokawa (14th), Kohshiro Sumi (60th), Sako Maaya (66th), Kenta Aoshima (75th), Yusukue Aoki (80th, 87th), Kuraba Kondo (83rd, 86th) and Shinya Nakano (90th) while Guam's Robert Matthew Niu scored an own goal in the 28th minute.
Singapore and Malaysia are the other teams in Group J and play later on Wednesday. Malaysia, however, have already qualified as hosts of the Finals.
