Ghana's assistant coach Maxwell Konadu wants the Black Stars to hit the ground running with immediate preparations after being drawn in the Group of Death of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars will play Algeria, the highest-ranked side on the continent, who were also Africa's best wide at the 2014 World Cup.

The Desert Foxes, who reached the second round of this year's World Cup, will face Senegal, Ghana and South Africa in Group C.

Aware of the threat posed by all the three countries in their group, Konadu says the Black Stars need quick preparations for the competition which starts in six weeks' time.

“Normally first matches of every competition are one of the toughest games. I believe that we have to sit up and prepare very well because this group is not as easy as people see it," Konadu told SuperSport.

“We need to put our house in order and do the right things at the right time and we will be fine.”

Two of South Africa's rivals, Ghana and Algeria, were in the World Cup finals this year with the latter reaching the second round for the first time in their history and the Desert Foxes took eventual champions Germany to extra-time in their last 16 clash.
