Ghana coach Avram Grant is disappointed talented midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah will not be available for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

The Juventus player underwent surgery on Tuesday in Barcelona to correct a knee problem and has been ruled out for up to four months.

Grant would have loved to have the versatile midfielder around as he prepares to supervise his first assignment in-charge of the Black Stars.

“Asamoah is a very good player and he has done very well for himself at Juventus. I have monitored him and I am sorry I will not have him available for the 2015 African Nations Cup tournament,” the Israeli disclosed at a press conference in Accra on Thursday.

Grant has less than six weeks to prepare for the tournament and mount a strong challenge for the title although missing out on the job would not cost his job.
