Egypt's Zamalek defeated Niger's AS Douanes 2-0 on Sunday, while Nigerian giants Enyimba defeated Togo's Ange de Notse 3-1.
Ghanaian side Berekum Chelsea was also among the lucky ones as they also managed to sink Atlabar of South Sudan 2-0.
The prominent surprise of the first leg was the 0-2 loss of Sudanese heavyweights Al-Merreikh against Kampala City Council of Uganda.
