With Mamelodi Sundowns expected to make a decision on Ghanaian goalkeeper, Richard Ofori, the player's representatives have confirmed that he would like to get a chance to play in the PSL.

About two weeks ago, reports coming out of Ghana indicated that the goalkeeper was expected to finalise a deal with Downs.

Sources have confirmed that Ofori is currently being assessed by Sundowns coach, Pitso Mosimane and his technical team, as reported by the Soccer Laduma.

Ofori’s representative, Tera Maliwa of TSSM, confirmed that the player is currently in South Africa although he would not mention the name of the club.

“Yes, Richard Ofori is currently in South Africa and training with a PSL club, with the hope of getting a contract. Unfortunately, I cannot divulge the name of the club at the moment. But I can assure you that for now, so far so good. There is also a possibility for him to go to Belgium if things don’t work out in South Africa,” Maliwa told the Siya crew.

Sundowns currently have Ricardo Nascimento from Brazil, Fares Hachi from Algeria, Leonardo Castro from Columbia as well as Yannick Zakri and Soumahoro Bangaly from Ivory Coast, who all registered on their foreign quota.

As reported by the Siya crew, Masandawana may look to sign the goalkeeper and send him out on loan until a foreign quota spot becomes available for him, should the club decide to add him to their roster.
