Newly appointed Hearts of Oak coach C.K Akunnor says his immediate focus will be improving performance of the team.

The former Ghana international replaces Serbian trainer Nebojsa Vucicevic who was sacked following a poor run of results in the second round of the Glo Premier League.

And after sealing a two-year move to the Phobians on Tuesday, the 38-year-old says improving performance on the field of play will be his immediate task.

“My immediate aim will be to improve the performance of the players on the field of play,” he told Hot FM.

“I am a very young coach but also very ambitious so I welcome the challenge offered by this job.

“It is a very big platform and hopefully our hard work will pay off by way of improved results.”

The ex Ghana captain will travel to Tarkwa to watch his new side in action against Medeama before commencing work on Thursday.
