All Africa Games: Nigeria confident of men's triumph over Ghana despite tough group

Nigeria’s under-23 head coach Samson Siasia has described as tough nuts the All Africa Games Group B opponents Ghana, Egypt and Senegal but assured his team will challenge for the gold medal.

Siasia expressed surprise that the strongest teams in the tournament in terms of pedigree ended up in the same pool.

“I can tell you right away that this group B is a tough one as all the countries in this group can qualify for the semi-finals," Siasia said

“All I can say for now is that we are not afraid of any of them and will know what to do when we get to that bridge.”

Siasia said his concentration is on the African Under-23 Championship qualifying fixture home and away to Congo as that is of immediate importance.

The Dream Team VI will on Friday play a friendly game against Nigeria National League (NNL) side Go Round FC in Port Harcourt as part of their build-up for the clash against Congo Brazzaville.
