Allardyce delighted with Crystal Palace turnaround

Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce is delighted over the way they've turned their season around.

Allardyce admits that while taking over a struggling club mid-season brings its own challenges, he says that the joy of succeeding in the challenge makes it all worthwhile.

"It is difficult when you take a new club over in the middle of the season, but you have decided to take the job and you know what the demands are," he said.

"You drive yourself through that and you end up dancing on the pitch – I am not so sure I will do that this time if we stay up, but you are excited about what you have achieved.

"People say how can you get excited about surviving relegation, but it is a big thing for every football club and it is a big thing for this area.

"How many people would know where Crystal Palace was if it didn't have a Premier League side? It wouldn't be on the map as much as it is. It is a worldwide brand and Premier League brings a huge amount of business for people in this area."
