Ex Ghana star Tony Yeboah is against the appointment of a technical adviser for the Black Stars despite assurances it is a move to enhance the teamââ¬â¢s performance.
The Ghana FA have set up a three-man committee to look for a competent hand to provide technical assistance to coach Kwesi Appiah.
There have however been varied reactions towards the decision to bring in a ââ¬Ëcompetent handââ¬â¢.
While some argue it is a move in self-admission of Kwesi Appiahââ¬â¢s incompetency, others are towing the line of the GFA by insisting it will only enhance the teamââ¬â¢s performance.
Former Ghana striker Tony Yeboah has waded into the ongoing debate â⬓ suggesting the appointment is unnecessary especially when Kwesi Appiah is suspected not to be up to the task.
ââ¬ÅWe all admit that the team didnââ¬â¢t do well at the World Cup and that changes ought to be made,â⬠he told Peace FM.
ââ¬ÅThere is however two things now; either you sack or maintain the coach but then with this appointment of an adviser, I just donââ¬â¢t understand how it will work.
ââ¬ÅWill he [technical adviser] be the boss over the coach or he will work under the coach? I donââ¬â¢t get it.ââ¬
The three-member search committee are expected to complete their work next week for the appointment to be made before Ghana's opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda in early September.
Ex France captain Marcel Desailly has been linked to taking up this role but he has since dismissed his interest in the job.
Former Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has also been mentioned.
