"It's a big satisfaction for him and us as well, but I'm against it," Wenger replied when asked by an equally confused reporter about Ozil's nod. Wenger is a vocal critic of the award, preferring team honours over individual recognition in football, and repeated those concerns on Friday. "It gets in the head of players, you see people think only of themselves because they are obsessed by the Ballon d'Or and not the team. Football is a collective sport. We want to respect what it's about, which is the team effort.
