Asante Kotoko head coach, Zdravko Lugarusic has disclosed that his eight days off to his native country was to poach Croatian players to the club.

The former Gor Mahia coach left the shores of the country just hours after their 1-0 loss to arch rival Hearts of Oak in week 8 of the Ghana Premier League two weeks ago.

He returned to the country on late Monday to prepare the team ahead of their Match Day 9 game against Inter Allies on Sunday.

But the 55-year old coach has revealed he went to his country in search of players to beef up the squad in their league title hunt.

“I did not go for holidays, of course I went to see my family but I went to see players from Croatia as well who can play for Kotoko,” he told Peace FM.

“You never know, I can bring some players to play for Kotoko, so I went there to watch them.”
