Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Isaac Amoako is set to undergo surgery in Accra to fix a troublesome knee injury, the cub has announced.

The 32-year-old is being prepared for the operation at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

Amoako requires an arthroscopic surgery to fix his anterior cruciate ligament he completely raptured in his right knee while training with Kotoko.

The goalkeeper rarely featured for Kotoko in the just ended campaign.

Amoako’s latest injury setback is the third of its kind he has suffered within a year.

He first sustained the injury the FA Cup match against King Faisal in June 2014.

The injury recurred in August the same year to rob the goalkeeper off the club’s pre-season programme presided over by Mas-ud Dramani.

Amoako featured three times for Kotoko on his return only to sustain the same injury when he landed awkwardly in an activity during training session.
