AshantiGold captain Daniel Asamoah is set to quit the club after failing to renew his contract with the club, MTNfootball.com can confirm.
The defender has resolved to leave the Obuasi-based side after eight seasons at Len Clay.
Asamoah was promoted from the club's renowned academy.
The club have made several unsuccessful attempts for him reconsider his decision.
Asamoah, who played in Sunday's MTN FA Cup defeat to New Edubiase United at the Accra Sports Stadium is reportedly close to joining SC Medeama.
He is the second player to quit the Len Clay Stadium after striker Yakubu Mohammed also failed to renew his contract.
