AshantiGold coach Bashir Hayford has threatened to ââ¬Ëbeatââ¬â¢ up journalists who ââ¬Ëinsultââ¬â¢ him on their various media platforms.
The former Asante Kotoko coach seems not to have earned the respect he deserves despite leading the Miners to the top of the Ghanaian top flight after 19 rounds of matches.
Hayford has a history of leading clubs to the summit of the Ghana league only to lose the plot in the second half of the season.
It is the reason why many believe AshGold will not emerge champions for the first time close to two decades by the end of the current campaign despite being seven-points ahead of second-placed Aduana Stars.
Hayford who saw his sideââ¬â¢s MTN FA Cup title charge come crashing against Asante Kotoko in midweek has come out swinging at journalists who doubt his Premier League title credentials, threatening physical assault against anyone who insults him.
ââ¬ÅI am not saying I will beat somebody. I will beat whoever insults me,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅI meet you on the street and you identify yourself, then I will not be a coach.
ââ¬ÅDo you think I will fight with you? I will beat you!ââ¬
The comments of the AshGold trainer could attract the interest of the Ghana FAââ¬â¢s Ethics Committee whose mandate is to ensure the game is not brought into disrepute.
Many other officials, coaches and players have been punished by the GFA sub-body for making remarks along these lines in the past.
