Former Liverpool and Chelsea forward Fernando Torres helped Athletico past Gary Neville's Valencia in a 3-1 victory.
Torres scored a goal after 10 minutes of coming onto the ptich and also drew the foul which resulted in a red card for Aderlan Santos.
Madrid boss Diego Simeone had nice things to say about the player when speaking at a press conference.
"Fernando responded as we needed him to, we know he is a unique player.
"We think about him every day, and today he had a huge impact when he came on the pitch. We won the game deservedly, playing really good football."
