Atsu not keen on Ghana starting berth

Posted On Thursday, 6th September 2012

FC Porto winger Christian Atsu not keen on Ghana starting role

Portugal-based winger Christian Atsu says he is not keen on a starting role in Ghana’s 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against Malawi on Saturday.

The FC Porto whiz kid scored on his Ghana debut in the 7-0 mauling of Lesotho in June and has been impressive in his four international caps.

The 20-year-old must contest for a place in a star-studded Ghana midfield set-up.

With Marseille star Andre Ayew making a return and Juventus ace Kwadwo Asamoah available, Atsu chances are slim.

“I work for my nation and myself. Whatever decision the coach makes must be accepted,” Atsu  said.

Atsu is expected to be a second half substitute in the game.

i hate when they dsay “o kwadwo asamoah is available for the wings” FOR GODSAKE HE IS NOT A WINGER WTF!!..What he plays at Juventus…which is LM or LWB is totally different from LW HOLY CRAP I SWEAR THAT PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH…and then when he gets put at LW you guys wonder why he cannot perform…WTF MAN

  3. Anokwale says:

The problem of course is that there are too many defensive midfielders and Kwadwo is one of them. The Black Stars try to turn defensive midfielders into attacking midfielders. This is the issue.
