Daniel Grant, the son of Ghana coach Avram, has urged his father NOT to travel to Egypt ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifier in the volatile North African country over security concerns.

The son of the former Chelsea coach has admitted his family is overly worried over the trip of their father to Alexandria on Sunday.

Security fears for the Ghana coach have come to the fore because of the age-long tensions between Arabs and Israelis ahead of the crucial 2018 World Cup qualifier.

Reports have emerged from Egypt that some fans are planning to attack the Israeli coach when the Black Stars arrive in Alexandria - a city noted for anger over Israel's relationship with Palestine.

And Daniel Grant has told Israel's sports program 102 FM that his father has been advised against traveling to the North African country.

"Of course I'm worried, I'm worried about what I'm hearing from the media and everybody. But he doesn't talk to me about it, I believe it was also because he was trying not to upset me," he told 102 FM

"You know him, you know what he's talking about. He talks to me and says, ' I had a beautiful reception, everything is fine.

"I actually haven't talked to him about it, I didn't, talk to him soon. Yes, it is stressful to see it, hear it  and we are nervous.

Israel government's most important security body, Mossad, has warned the Ghana coach not to travel for Sunday's crucial World Cup qualifier insisting the journey is dangerous for the Israeli.

The Jewish state's most feared security body says the Israeli coach's trip with the Black Stars to Alexandria on Saturday for the Group E qualifier on poses a threat on his life.
