BA Stars punished for misconduct

Relegation-threatened BA Stars have been docked three points, handed a two-match ban and fined after a home match against New Edubiase United ended abruptly.

BA Stars will lose three from their accumulated points and fined 1,000 Ghana cedis as per GFA Regulation 34(5)(a) for causing the abrupt end of the game.

This means the Sunyani-based side have been plunged to the foot of the table.

The decision of the disciplinary committee of the Ghana FA found the newly-promoted side guilty of charges of misconduct.

The club were also is fined GHC 5,000 for the misconduct of their supporters.

The game was heading towards the dying stages when irate fans of the home side charged on the match officials, players and technical staff of the visitors on 17 October.

The club are also ordered to pay for the medical bills of the injured match officials.

BA Stars travel to Obuasi this Sunday to play AshantiGold in the Glo Premier League.
