Baba Rahman's sterling performance on his Chelsea debut could help him hold down the left-back role to face Arsenal in the English Premier League top-liner on Saturday.

Manager Jose Mourinho is expected to reward the former Augsburg defender with another show against Arsenal during the weekend.

The 21-year-old was handed a debut start at his favourite left-back role by Mourinho and he flourished as the Blues became the only English side to record victory in matchday one of the Uefa Champions League group stage.

Manager Mourinho could keep faith in the former Asante Kotoko defender and maintain him in the role for their all-important home clash with London rivals Arsenal on Saturday.

Baba dislodged Serb defender Branislav Ivanovic, who has come in for criticism for his lackluster performances, and he seems to have won over the slot.

With pressure mounting on Mourinho he is likely to maintain 90% of the squad that lifted the pressure slightly off his shoulders by thrashing Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-0.
