Recovering Las Palmas midfielder Mubarak Wakaso has been named in Ghana’s squad to face Mozambique next week in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The 26-year-old was a huge doubt for the back-to-back matches after picking up a thigh injury last month while playing for his club in Spain.

The initial diagnosis on the injury was supposed to keep him out of action for a month but the Ghana international made giant strides in the treatment room.

His inclusion into Grant’s team means he will be able to play a part in the game against the Mambas.

Wakaso has been integral for the Black Stars in the last twelve months and his availability will boost the team as Ghana seek to secure qualification for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations finals to be staged in Gabon.
