Ex-Kotoko striker Amed Simba Toure has revealed that a return to the Kumasi-based Ghana Premier League side is not on his cards.

Speaking to Dunkwa-based Solar Fm on Monday, the ex-Kotoko goal poacher disclosed that he has already decided not to don the red jersey of the porcupine club where he started his professional career.

The 28-year old striker revealed that he had heard of several reports linking him with a return to the Kotoko fold but has told the hierarchy of the club to forget hatching such a plot if the stories circulating in the local media are anything to go by.

“I have decided already not to ever play for Kotoko again. I have heard lots of reports that the hierarchy of the club want me back at Kotoko but as I have said, I am not ever interested to join Kotoko. It is not ever possible. It will not work out”, he revealed.

“I love Kotoko and everybody at the club. I like Kotoko to be honest with you. It is the club where I started my professional career but to come back to Kotoko, I have made up my mind already and I will not play for the club again. I miss the club and it is not as if I run away from the club but I want the supporters to sometimes find out why I left the club. I was badly treated at the club”, he emphasised.

The pacy striker did not however rule out donning the rainbow colours of Kotoko’s bitterest rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak and also revealed that he speaks to some past and current Management members of Kotoko.

“As at now, I remain a Bechem United player. If the season ends now and I emerge as the top goal scorer and get a deal with a club outside Ghana, I would gladly welcome it but if I am unable to secure a move outside Ghana I would still play for Bechem. If Hearts of Oak ask for my signature, I would consider it but if it is Kotoko, I won’t play. That is my decision.”

“Sometimes they call me. I call some former Management members of the club to greet them. I speak to some members of the current administration. The current Operations Manager is my friend. We talk a lot and he even called me yesterday [Sunday] and asked whether I would come back to the club but I told him to forget it. This is not the time to talk about all these things. I am a Bechem United player and so let’s talk about Bechem United. For Kotoko, I would never ever play for them”, he ended.

Amed Simba Toure currently leads the Ghana Premier League topscorers chart with 4 goals joint with Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s Mohammed Yakubu.
