BK Hacken Sporting Director Sonny Karlsson has revealed the club did not scout new Ghanaian recruit Baba Mensah.

Mensah has joined the Swedish side on a one-year deal with an option for a permanent deal if he impresses.

The Inter Allies strong centre-back was snapped up by the European outfit following recommendation by compatriot Nasiru Mohammed.

The club’s Sporting Director Sonny Karlsson has revealed the club had been keeping tabs on the exploits of the fast-rising Ghanaian defender.

“We’ve had a lot to do with Ghana and have some contacts there. We did not scout him, but we got a little inside of his ability,” he said

“He has played with Nasiru (Mohammed) and was recently elected as the National League’s best defender.

“He is a fine talent and we’re looking forward to a great season.”
