Captain of the Black Queens of Ghana, Mercy Myles has opened up on the team’s meeting with the President of the land John Dramani Mahama which was called off adding they are yet to receive the President’s invite.

The Black Queens won gold medal at the 2015 All African Games held in Congo Brazzaville after beating the senior female football team of Cameroon 1-0 in a cliff hanger.

Upon the team’s arrival from the tournament, the team refused to check out of their hotel insisting that the state owes them an amount of $23,000 each for outstanding bonuses and other allowances.

The insistence drew bad blood from the Ministry of Youth and Sports as the Minister insisted that they could only pay $2000.

The President, John Dramani Mahama ordered that each player be paid $5000 each so as to check out of the hotel.

Further arrangements were made for the President to meet the Gold winning team which was cancelled at the eleventh hour.

But the captain of the side Mercy Myles in an interview reveals that the meeting is likely to be a fiasco.

“The meeting was cancelled and as at now we have not heard anything again. We want to believe that maybe the President has a lot of things to deal with so we are hoping that very soon we will hear from him.”

“As to why the meeting was cancelled we haven’t been told the exact details but the Welfare officer was informed that the meeting have been cancelled because the President want to attend one or two program,“ She told Best FM.
