Adam Kwarasey has denied claims he questioned the competence of goalkeepers’ trainer Nassam Yakubu as the Portland Timbers shot-stopper returns to the Black Stars after 16-months self- imposed exile.

Kwarasey called temporal time on his international career following Ghana’s wrecked 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil.

The 27-year-old is widely reported to have questioned the competence of the team’s goalkeepers’ trainer while taking a pot-shot at officials for treating him unfairly during the tournament in the South American country.

However, the Portland Timbers makes a return to the team after holding fruitful discussions with coach Avram Grant ahead of the country’s international friendly against Canada in Washington.

However, there are fears his return could spark confusion in the team having publicly criticized officials of the Ghana FA.

But Black Stars management committee chief George Afriyie insists the player never made those claims attributed to him

“The player told the coach those comments were not officially from him and he never made any of those rumours making the rounds,” he told Graphic Sports
