Breaking News: Daniel Opare makes Ghana return after three-year absence

Published on: 26 September 2017

In-form Augsburg defender Daniel Opare is returning to the Black Stars for the first in three-years after being handed a call-up ahead of the 2018 Word Cup qualifier against Uganda next month, multiple media reports have claimed.

The 26-year-old has been rewarded for his revived form for the German Bundesliga side.

The former Ghana youth star has not played for West Africans since the country's wrecked 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil.

The Ghanaian has shown a strong performance in recent games to win his way back into the national team ahead of the crucial qualifier against the Cranes in Kampala next month.

The former Real Madrid youth defender has featured in four out of six matches for the German side where he has impressed heavily.

He is largely regarded as the man to replace ageing US-based Harrison Afful at the right-back position.
