No candidate filed to contest the affable football administrator when nominations for the Zone West B slot were opened.
The lawyer has been instrumental in reviving the game in the sub-regional by organizing competitions for both male and female.
In 2013, he revived the WAFU Nations Cup with a successful tournament hosted and won by Ghana.
The eight-team tournament enjoyed a sponsorship deal from Africa’s biggest pay TV channel SuperSport which ensured it was beamed across the world.
Last year, Togo hosted the Wafu B U17 tournament which was won by Benin.
These and many more accounted for the reason why nobody decided to contest him later in the year.
Nyantakyi has also warmed himself into CAF with his meaningful contributions on how to develop the game on the continent.
In February 2011, Nyantakyi won the CAF Executive Committee seat in a landslide victory after polling 34 votes, 15 more than what Benin's Anjorin Moucharafou garnered.
He became the fifth Ghanaian to become a member of CAF’s Executive Committee after Ohene Djan (1961-1966), Kobina Hagan (1961-1962), Nana Fredua Mensah (1968-1972) and Samuel Okyere (1990-1994).
