Former Chief Executive of Berlin FC Takyi Arhin has endorsed George Afriyie as the heir to the Ghana Football Association presidency throne.
Report went widespread in the media last week that, the president of the Ghana FA Kwesi Nyantakyi has decided not to contest for another term in office when his current term elapse in 2019, leaving the door open for someone else to assume the role.
And the outspoken Takyi Arhin believes that one person who deserves to succeed Nyatakyi in the hot seat is the Ghana FA vice capo, George Afriyie during an interview with Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports.
“Even though two years seems far too long to pinpoint someone now, the only person I will vouch to succeed Nyantakyi is George Afriyie. He has all the qualities to be the next FA president because he has gone through the apprenticeship and I believe it’s about time he makes that step,” Arhin said.
“Whenever a hot issue pops up in the football circles and he talks, everything falls in place. He shows maturity on the job and also a very humble man. These are some of the qualities he possesses which shows he’s capable of handling the position without any fuss.”
“However, there are others who I believe will also contest him for the role and they are going to give him a run for his money but I can vouch for George Afriyie for now that he will be very good replacement for Kwesi Nyantakyi,” he deduced.
