The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has found kotoko Equipment Officer, Issah Amadu not guilty of misconduct charge against him in his side's defeat at Edubiase.

Issah was reported to have attacked Referee Charles Bulu in the match day 22 controversy-ridden encounter in Bekwai which kotoko lost.

The referee reported that, the Equipment Officer attacked him. However the Disciplinary Committee in its ruling on thursday, dismissed the charges brought against Issah Amadu.

“Satisfied with the video evidence before it that, the actions of Issah Amadu after the final whistle of the match do not amount to a breach of regulations. The evidence does not support the charge as Issah Amadu was clearly seen as rather the good citizen preventing others from the referee” said the ruling.

“The Committee examined the depositions of the parties, the charge sheet, the oral defence; the reports of the match officials and the video of the match. At the end of the GFA Prosecutor’s submission, Counsel for Issah Amadu made a submission of No Case to Answer.

“Secondly, in his defence, Issah Amadu stated that he was rather the one who went to protect the referee once he noticed that some football fans have entered the field of play and were advancing towards the referee. He added that, the report of the referee that, Edmund Ackah prevented him from attacking the referee could not be true because Edmund Ackah was at the VIP and not on the field of play”.

“Edmund Ackah (witness for Issah Amadu) corroborated the statement made by Issah Amadu. The Committee considered all the evidence and holds that on this occasion the presumption in Article 85 of the Disciplinary Code on the facts stated in the Match Commissioner’s Report is rebutted
