Spanish striker Jonathan Soriano has joined Beijing Guoan.
Ex-Sevilla striker Fredi Kanoute played for the Chinese team for two years before hanging up his boots and he visited them while they were completing pre-season training in Marbella, where he discussed Beijing Guoan coach Jose Gonzalez's striking requirements and recommended Soriano, who was with Red Bull Salzburg, reports Marca.
Just a few weeks later, the former Espanyol and Barcelona youth teamer has put pen to paper and will represent the team from the Chinese capital in 2017.
He leaves Austria after a successful five-year spell.
