Double Olympic blow hit Ghana as Black Queens exit qualifiers

Ghana's women national team have been knocked out of the London 2012 Olympic Games eliminators despite winning 2-1 against Ethiopia in Accra on Saturday afternoon.

The Black Queens needed to overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit and were on the verge of doing that when Faisa Ibrahim's header opened the scoring in the first half.

Ghana went up 2-0 through Leticia Zikpi after the interval but hopes were quashed when Ethiopia's Regina Zege got the all important consolation goal.

Despite tying 2-2 on aggregate, Ethiopia advance on the away goal rule.

This is double humilation for Ghana as the men Olympic team were eliminated by minnows Sudan last week.
