English top sides Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton and Manchester United as well as Manchester City are in the race to sign talented Ghanaian midfielder Godfred Donsah.

According to reports in Italy, all the English clubs had scouts in the stands to run the rule over Bologna pair Godfred Donsah and Amadou Diawara.

This means the clubs have started the process of signing the Ghanaian player but want thorough monitoring before a decision is taken.

Diawara and Donsah were being watched this weekend as Bologna lost 2-1 to Inter Milan and lost further ground on the European chasers.

They sit ninth while Inter are now six points clear of rivals AC Milan in fifth.

But, with both Premier League clubs sending scouts over, the race for the duo is set to hot up.

Donsah, 19, is a Ghana youth player and has been tracked by Chelsea for over a year now.

The midfielder joined Bologna from Cagliari last summer and has started 16 times in Serie A.

He's scored twice and has two assists.

Diawara, meanwhile, is aged 18 and has made 24 Serie A starts.
