ERIKSSON on United and IBRAHIMOVIC: \"He\'ll make a great impact on Red Devils and Premier League\"

Interviewed by Daily Mirror from his Gothenburg home, Swedish 68 years old manager Sven-Göran Eriksson, whose most famous career experiences are the ones in Italian football (AS Roma, 1984-87; Fiorentina, 1987-89; Sampdoria, 1992-97; Lazio, 1997-2001), as England head coach (2001-06) and Premier League ones (Manchester City, 2007/08; Leicester, 2010/11), talked about José Mourinho's new Manchester United, prominently focusing on Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

“Zlatan has had an impact wherever he plays, because of his ability and his character, so a big club like United is an ideal stage for him. People who say his best days are past, and Red Devils are paying him too much, simply don’t know Zlatan.

He would never have signed for United if he didn’t feel it was a challenge he could meet. Also you cannot ignore his relationship with José Mourinho. They have been together before, and you cannot imagine he would sign him just out of personal fondess. He must believe Zlatan can still perform at the very highest level, and I am absolutely certain he can and will. Zlatan still feels he has a lot to offer, and I am certain he will make a big impact for United and on the Premier League”.
