Ex-Ghana captain Stephen Appiah grateful to all for massive turnout during testimonial match

Former captain of the Black Stars, Stephen Appiah, has expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama and all who supported him during his fundraising dinner and testimonial match which were held at the Banquet Hall, State House and the Accra Sports Stadium respectively.

Appiah, who together with Primeval Media, organised the fundraising dinner and testimonial match on June 26 and June 27 2015, said in a statement that the two events could not have been successful without the massive support of all Ghanaians.

“I was overwhelmed by the support received from Ghanaians before, during and after the two events.

"The presence of high profile personalities such as sitting President John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, two former presidents , John Rawlings and John Kufuor, Speaker of Parliament, Mr Edward Doe Adjaho, National Chief Imam, Sheik Osman Nuhu Sharabutu, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, Apostle General of Royal House Chapel and many others, was an indication of massive nationwide support for me." it said.

Appiah also expressed appreciation to individuals and corporate organisations that provided financial support for the two events.

Appiah also sent his heartfelt appreciation to Samuel Eto'O Fils, Emmanuel Adebayor, George Boateng, Guissepe Colluci who despite their busy schedules, were able to travel to Ghana to fully participate in the testimonial match.

He also lauded the Ghanaian media for the huge publicity given to the two events.
