GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report that defender David Addy is set to undergo trials at German second-tier side Union Berlin.

The talented left-back is available on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Belgian top-flight side Waasland-Beveren last summer.

GHANASoccernet.com understands, the Ghana international will sign a short-term contract to remain active ahead of the January transfer window.

Union Berlin have had injury problems in defence and want to make an emergency signing.

In recent weeks, the two Union left backs Fabian Schönheim and Michael Parensen have suffered injury setbacks. ‘

During last Saturday’s 3-2 home win over MSV Duisburg, centre-back Toni Leistner was replaced after an hour due to injury.

It is unknown when he will be making a return to the pitch.

Addy, 25, has played for the Danish side Randers FC, and two Portuguese first division clubs FC Porto and Vitória Guimaraes.

Union Berlin are currently 12th on the 18-team Bundesliga II table after nine rounds of matches.
