Phil Ofosu-Ayeh has signed for a new club in Germany

Phil Ofosu-Ayeh has become the first Ghanaian footballer to join a new club in Europe in this summer transfer window as the defender has signed for German second tier side Eintracht Braunschweig, Ghana's leading football news outfit, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 23-year-old signed a two-year contract on Tuesday to continue he career in the German second tier.

Ofosu-Ayeh, the powerfully talented defender, sealed the lucrative deal on a free transfer.

The right-back sealed the move from rival Bundesliga 2 side VfR Aalen who were relegated at the end of the just-ended season which means they will play in the third division next year.

His contract with Aalen ended at the end of the German football season, paving the way from him to seal the deal on a free transfer which will massively improve his wages.

Ofosu-Ayeh completed his season with great personal success having played 32 matches for the relegated German side Aalen.

The defender, whose father is a Ghanaian, was raised in in the German town of Wilhelmshaven and previously played for MSV Duisburg and Rot-Weiß Erfurt.
