FIFA President Sepp Blatter has sent his condolences over the death of former Ghana coach and footballer Charles Kumi Gyamfi.
ââ¬ÅPlease accept my deepest condolences on hearing that former coach and Fortuna Dusseldorf player Charles Kumi Gyamfi has passed away. He was the first African player in Germany and as a coach led the Ghana national team to win the Africa Cup of Nations three timesââ¬.
He will be remembered as a great player and as one of the most successful coaches in African football, the FIFA President said in a letter sent to the Ghana Football Association.
ââ¬ÅOn behalf of the members if the international football community, I would be extremely grateful if you could extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.â⬠ââ¬ÅWe would hope that in some way, our words of support may help bring a little bit of peace and solace in this time of sadnessââ¬, the FIFA Boss added.
The legendary Ghanaian coach and footballer died on Wednesday September 2 in Accra after a brief illness.
