FIFA Goalkeeping Coaching Course concludes in Cambodia

Phnom Penh: More than 20 participants from the Cambodia Football Federation (CFF), the country’s academies and schools are being put through their paces in the FIFA Goalkeeping Coaching Course, which concluded yesterday at the National Football Training Centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The main objective of the five-day course was to enhance the knowledge of the country’s goalkeeper coaches. Some of the key topics included general preparation, standing saves, diving and crosses, shot stopping, distribution, physical preparation and managing dead ball situations.

Participants were tested during both theory and practical sessions and also given the opportunity to take part in a goalkeeper performance assessment test during the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Smart U16 Championship 2016, currently taking place in Cambodia.

The course was conducted by FIFA Goalkeeping Instructor and AFC Head of Administration (Technical) Jose Marcelino Z. Carpio.
