Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure claims he has been declared eligible to play for Burkina Faso.

The 24 year old, born in Ivory Coast and holds an Ivorian passport, has been a target for Burkina Faso coach Paul Putt who pushed for his nationality switch.

He told Sunyani-based Storm FM: "I went there (Burkina Faso) and did some of the things they wanted from me and I came back to Ghana so they have called to tell me that I can play for them now even in the qualifiers because FIFA has told them".

"I will be preparing to leave Ghana soon. I have to complete some few things and I will go to Burkina this week," he added.

Toure had earlier expressed interest to play for Ghana but the FA could not push further for his change in nationality.

He could be available for Burkina Faso's next 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Gabon in Libreville.
