John Mensah suffers career setback

Former Black Stars captain John Mensah has intimated that he is ready to join any club in the local league ahead of the upcoming season.

The 35-year-old has been out injured for close to a year and has constantly rejected claims that he's called time on his footballing career.

And the former Sunderland guardsman has reiterated that he would consider a move to join any of the local clubs as he seeks to get his career back on track.

“I won’t say no to playing in the local league although I haven’t thought of that. As at now, my main focus is to recover fully from my injury problems,” he told Graphic Sports.

“I don’t have any preferred destination because I have to start training for the clubs to see me and then bid for me before I can decide on where to move to,” he added.

Mensah last played actively for AFC Ekilstuna in the Allsvenskan league but injuries hampered his stay with the Swedish club.
