The signing of Michael Essien looks to have paid off with former Chelsea and former West Ham United forward Carlton Cole joining him in Indonesia.

The English born forward who has had a celebrated career decided to join Essien after buying in to the clubs global project.

Persib Bandung first gained attention on the international scene after the signing of Michael Essien, but did not stop there, they went on to promise their fans of bringing in bigger names to the club in an aim of lifting their brand and improving the ratings of the Indonesian league.

The signing of Carlton just three weeks after securing Michael Essien is in line with the clubs policy of bringing in huge football names to lighten up their stadium and give back excitement to their club.

Cole is reported to have signed a one year deal and has a condition of renewal based on how successful he is.
