Former Dutch U19 striker Elvis Manu yearns for Ghana switch

Dutch-born prospect Elvis Manu is convinced about representing Ghana as a senior international.

The 20-year-old striker has been grabbing the headlines in the Eredivisie after scoring five goals for Cambuur where he is on loan.

Manu was born in Dordrecht and has featured for the Dutch U19 side.

But the Feyenoord Rotterdam-owned player now wants to switch allegiance.

“I want to play for Ghana and I am hoping for an invitation from Ghana,” Manu told AD on Tuesday.

“It has always been my dream to defend the colours of Ghana as I feel Ghanaian.”

If his nationality switch is ratified, he will follow in the footsteps of Quincy Owusu-Abeyie.

normally, the problem stems from the players' unwillingness to play for Ghana. for example, balotelli, welbeck, etc.... the GFA can only do so much... BUT in this case, since the player is very willing, its only a matter of time before its a done deal.... granted he is good...

He looks like a real striker Watch this goal on youtube. It was in 2012, I dont know if he's still this good but hey he's very young so the earlier we get him the better.

This goal is almost like what Afriyie Acquah scored during this past weekend match. Does that mean Acquah is also a striker? These days every player scores any cheap goal and starts making noise all in the name of Brazil Lol. Anyway, this Manu guy will still have to wait because, there's no way FIFA can release him to in less than a year. Besides, he's far below the type of strikers we need and those we currently have.
