Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah returned to competitive action for the first time in nearly one year after playing in Juventus's 3-1 win over Bologna in the Serie A on Sunday.

Coach Max Allegri fulfilled his promise of fielding the fit-again Ghana at the Juventus Stadium after recovering from the injury that has kept him out of action for close to a year.

The versatile midfielder was introduced in stoppage time after taking the place of Germany international Sami Khedira.

It was the first competitive match for the Ghana international  since November last year in the UEFA Champions League 3-2 win over Olympiacos due to a recurrent knee problem.

Asamoah showed steady progress when he scored in Friday’s 4-0 friendly win over Borgaro where he lasted for an hour.
