Harrison Afful’s intermediary has told Egyptian giants Zamalek to cough up US$ 1 million for the services of the Ghana international.

Reports in North African country say, the Whites are leading the race to sign the 2014 FIFA World Cup star.

In the past weeks, Zamalek’s sworn rivals Al Ahly sent their representative to Tunisia to start negotiation with the Esperance right back and this week.

Afful will be available on a free transfer when his contract expires this month with Esperance.

"I talked with Afful and he does not mind playing for any Egyptian side. He was clear about that. He has a tag of US$1 million for three seasons as fee to move to the Egyptian Premier League," Afful's intermediary Mido Hozien, told supersport.com.

"I will talk with Zamalek officials about what he wants and hope every thing goes good. It will be good if we see Afful here in Egypt."

Afful has been named in Ghana's U23 man squad to play Mauritius in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Accra.
