Asante Kotoko say the Ghana FA home venue ban handed them does not commensurate with their offence.

The club’s operations manager George Kennedy believes the Ghana FA Executive Committee decision to bar them from playing at the Baba Yara Stadium for the rest of the season is too harsh a punishment.

Fans of the club beat up referee ER Biney alleging that the centre-man was unfair in their 1-0 defeat to Heart of Lions on 26 March in a First Capital Plus League match.

Kotoko have condemned the behavior of the fans but have describe their punishment as harsh.

“The ban that we have been handed is right and a good decision, because the conduct of our fans was nothing to write home about,” Kennedy told Hello FM in Kumasi.

“The DC based their arguments solely on the referee's and match commissioner's reports.”

“We would go and plead with them to reduce the ban.”

Kotoko have three home matches against Inter Allies, Wa All Stars and Hearts of Oak to play before the season ends.
