The Ghana Football Association has ordered coach Avram Grant to stay in the country to scout for local strikers following the side's unflattering campaign in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, state-owned Graphic Sports has reported.

The 61-year-old has come under fire due to the team's disastrous start in the qualifiers after picking just a point from a possible six.

The former Chelsea manager has been accused refusing to take risk, relying on foreign-based striker who have been extremely poor in recent times.

The Ghana has has thus ordered the Israeli to stay in the country and scout for strikers who are participating in the ongoing G6 tournament.

The Black Stars have struggled without top marksman Asamoah Gyan with second choice Jordan Ayew failing woefully to live up expectation.

Grant has consistently kept in-form Samuel Tetteh and hugely-rated Ebenezer Assifuah on the bench amid a shocking claim of lack of confidence in the duo.

He has been urged to stay in Ghana to scout for local strikers ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

‘We have not given up at all. Two mistakes cost us against Egypt. But we will continue to fight to beat Congo home and away and also beat Uganda away and Egyp at home to remain in contention for qualification." a source is quoted by Graphic Sports

The chances of the Black Stars to qualify to the 2018 World Cup in Russia is fast eroding after their latest 2-0 defeat to Egypt in Alexandria last Sunday.

The four-time African champions are third in group E with just a single point from two games.
