The Ghana FA has rejected Berekum Arsenal's letter to withdraw from the country's top-flight league as it was signed by a recognised official of the club.

The Berekum-based club slapped in a letter at the GFA on Wednesday informing the federation of its decision to quit the league.

Arsenals decided to quit the top-flight following a $4,000 fine slapped on them by the GFA after their supporters attacked Hearts of Oak players and officials.

The Ghana FA says it will not accept because a lawyer who is not known as an official of the club signed the letter withdrawing the club from the league.

"We have received the letter but we are rejecting the letter based on a few reasons," Ghana FA vice president Fred Crentsil told Kumasi-based Anigye FM.

"The letter was signed by a solicitor not affiliated to us and Yakubu Moro did not sign the letter either, so we will call Yakubu to verify the authenticity of the letter."

The GFA has also banned Arsenal from playing at home following their recent violent attack on Kotoko following Sunday's match.
