The Ghana Football Association has re-appointed Kwesi Appiah as the next Black Stars coach to replace Israeli Avram Grant.
The ex-Ghana captain is said to have come out top against former France defender Willy Sagnol and 2017 Africa Cup of Nations winning coach Hugo Broos after an interview session last Friday in Accra.
Appiah will be making a return to the national team job two years after he was sacked following the team's abysmal performance at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.
But the former defender has come in leaps in bounds since then and was voted Coach of the Year in Sudan after his great works with Al Khartoum SC.
He will be tasked to end Ghana's trophy drought at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations but must overcome Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and Kenya in the qualifiers which starts this June.
Appiah must weave his magic and revive Ghana's faint hopes in the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals after lying third with one point from two games; five behind leaders Egypt.
