Ghana football has been handed a major recognition by the international world as children from China will soon be coming to Ghana to undertake football lessons as part of a recreational program by Ghana First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

The first Lady signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with China that will see Chinese children coming to Ghana to study how to play football.

The MOU will also see Ghanaian children also travelling to China to take lessons in Martial Arts and Ping Pong.

The MOU which will greatly be centered on the organization of recreational programs will see both countries reaping enormous benefits.

Ghana and China have enjoyed very excellent international relations which have seen many Ghanaians currently schooling in Beijing and other parts of China.

In a tweet after the agreement of the MOU, the First Lady said:

“The aim of the MOU is to organize a recreational exchange program where ten Ghanaian Children will be sent to China. They will be trained in martial arts and ping-pong and ten Chinese kids will come to Ghana to be trained in football.”

By this, ten Ghanaian kids will travel to China every year to undergo training in Ping Pong and Martial Arts while a similar number of Chinese kids will come to Ghana for football lessons.

Despite numerous baseless chants that Ghana football is retrogressing at an alarming rate, the football bran of the West Africa country and the successes it has chalked since 2006 have received massive international recognition.

Ghana has been to the World Cup on three occasions since making an appearance in 2006 and have seen major development bat the youth level since the 2007 U17 World Cup in South Korea.

The West Africa country still remains the only African country to have won the FIFA U20 World Cup for the first and last time so far as the competition is concerned, lifting the trophy in Egypt in 2009.
