Ghana midfielder Michael Essien has confirmed his intention to remain at Chelsea despite speculations surrounding his future.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Italian giants Inter Milan in a swap deal with Dutchman Wesley Sneijder as compatriot Guus Hiddink prepares for a return to Stamford Bridge.
Essien has dispelled that and wants to stay and fight to win the Champions League for Chelsea.
"I am looking forward to next season, I want to win back the title and bring the Champions League to Chelsea. So I am not aware of not playing for Chelsea next season."
Essien joined the London club in 2005 from French side Olympique Lyon.
