Ghana quartet Isaac Twum, Thomas Abbey, Winful Cobbinah and Stephen Sarfo have been named in the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations Best XI.

The tournament Technical Study Group comprising veteran coach Francis Oti Akenten and ex-internationals Gariba Lawal (Nigeria) Augustine Arhinful (Ghana) and Stephen Baidoo (Ghana) selected the best players.

Inter Allies FC midfielder Twum, who was adjudged best player of the tournament, was selected in a midfield partnership with Nigeria's Afeez Aremu.

Hearts of Oak captain Abbey was selected as the tournament's best left back.

Striker Stephen Sarfo of Berekum Chelsea, the top scorer with four goals, and Hearts of Oak playmaker Winful Cobbinah lead the attack.

Guinea Conde Aminata and Ablaye Diene of Senegal were chosen as centre backs with Osas Okoro as the right back.

Nigeria captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa was selected as the tournament's best goalkeeper.

On the bench are Daouda Moussa Yusif, Dela Sakou Souleymane (Niger), Olamilekan Adeleye (Nigeria), Camara Abdolaye (Guinea), Chima Akas (Nigeria), Alain Jean Mauor (Cote d’Ivoire), Soumana Boubacar (Niger)
